6/28/13 – 1,000 scholarship in memory of Kevin Osborn was awarded to a graduating Rockland Community College (RCC)student pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.

June 5, 2013 – $1,022.00 – Girls Basketball  Scholarship was awarded to Samantha Cimillo a Suffern HS class of 2013 graduating senior.

June 5, 2013 – $1,019.00 – Boys Baseball Scholarship awarded to Jacob DeFelice a Suffern HS class of 2013 graduating senior.

June 5, 2013 – $1,019.00 – Girls Softball Scholarship awarded to Haley Napier a Suffern HS class of 2013 graduating senior.

March 11, 2013 – The Foundation made a substantial donation to the “Family and Friends of Joe” fund which was set up to benefit the family of Rockland County resident Joe Porrovecchio. Joe passed away two weeks ago after fighting a long battle with cancer. He served as a Captain with the United States Marine Corps. and was a long time Rockland resident leaving behind a wife and two young children. 

February 25, 2013 $1,000.00 – Donated to the Union Restaurant in Haverstraw, NY to assist with their Annual Feeding The Needy program. This program provides meals over a three (3) day period to less fortunate residents of Haverstraw and West Haverstraw. This years “We Care” event has 
been dedicated to the memory of Daniel McWeeney.

February 1, 2013. $2,500.00 – To the family of Danny Van Schaik an 11 yr. old Suffern Middle School student who was diagnosed in June 2012 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This donation will assist the Van Schaik family with additional expenses that are being incurred as a result of Danny’s condition. We will continue to monitor Danny’s progress and offer continued help to the family when needed.

$3,000.00 – To help offset the additional expenses incurred by the family of Michael Krutchick A 20 yr.old Suffern resident recently diagnosed with AML, a rare form of blood cancer. We will continue to monitor the family’s situation and continue to provide support where needed.

$2,400.00 to the family of Janiah Lakes A 9 yr. old child from Spring Valley who died this past year from a malignant brain tumor. This donation enabled Janiah’s mom to be able to purchase a grave and headstone for her child.

$1,022.00 – Boys Basketball Scholarship was awarded to Richard Ibsena Suffern HS class of 2012 graduating senior. 

$1,022.00 – Girls Basketball Scholarship was awarded to Kaitlyn Wood a Suffern HS class of 2012 graduating senior.

$1,000.00 – Donated to the Hi-Tor Animal Shelter To assist with their fundraising efforts in keeping the animal shelter open. There is an ongoing dispute between the residing town and Rockland County as to who is responsible for funding the shelter. Hi Tor is in danger of being closed this year (2012) due to lack of funding.

$2,000.00 – Donated to help offset expenses of the family of a Suffern resident who passed away suddenly leaving behind several children.

$1,000.00 -Donated to a Suffern family to assist with 
immediate financial needs due to a house fire.

$1,019.00 – Girls Softball Scholarship awarded to

$1,019.00 – Boys Baseball Scholarship awarded to Jesse Galina a Suffern HS class of 2012 graduating senior.

$10,000.00 – Donated to the Rockland County Challenger Baseball League A youth baseball program for mentally & physically challenged children under the age of 18. This donation will start the special fund that will be used in the future to build their “Field of Dreams”

$4,700.00 – To the family of Amy Clifford A 16 yr. old Suffern HS student who passed away on 8/13/12 after a long battle with cancer. This donation helped the Clifford family with final expenses for Amy.

$2,000.00 – Donated to the victims of Hurricane Sandy who live in the Piermont and Stony Point areas of Rockland County. The Foundation purchased $2,000 worth of gift certificates from Shop Rite and Target. These gift certificates were then given to the Stony Point Chief of Police for 
distribution to families in need. We will continue to follow up and provide assistance as needed.

Donations Made in 2011

$2,700 – To the family of Amy Clifford, a Suffern HS 9th grade student who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. We continue to monitor the families’ expenses (traveling to NYC for treatments, tolls, parking, etc.) and plan to make further contributions to assist them as needed. 
The Vincent Crotty Foundation’s contribution included paying for the food and supplies for the Breakfast Fundraiser that was held on April 2, 2011.

$1,022.00 – Boys Basketball Scholarship was awarded to Alushula Odongo a Suffern HS class of 2011 graduating senior. 

$1,022.00 – Girls Basketball Scholarship was awarded to Allison Califano a Suffern HS class of 2011 graduating senior.

$5,700.00 – To the Rockland County Touching Bases Baseball League – This is a baseball league for handicapped and special needs adults. The league serves Rockland ARC, Camp Jawonio and Camp Venture. In 2011 the league will celebrate their 10th anniversary. The Foundation hasagreed to make an annual contribution of $3,200.00 (as long as we are able to) that will cover the costs associated with providing insurance coverage for this league (we are not involved in the insurance, just providing the funds) Since this is an adult league they are not covered under Little League Baseball District 18 Insurance (The Challenger League is covered). We are also making a “one time” contribution of $2,500.00 to the Touching Bases League in 2011 that will be used to buy new uniforms for all players. These uniforms should last 3-4 years.

$1,019.00 – Boys Baseball Scholarship awarded to John Brennan a Suffern HS class of 2011 graduating senior.

$1,019.00 – Girls Softball Scholarship awarded to Gina Natoli a Suffern HS class of 2011 graduating senior.

$1,700.00 – For the purchase and distribution of cleaning supplies to assist needy families in the Squires Gate section of Suffern, NY during the aftermath of Hurricane Irene. The Crotty Foundation volunteers were also on site and sponsored a Bar BQ for the residents on Saturday 9/1/11 while the cleanup was underway.

$500.00 – To assist a local family with undue hardships incurred as a result of Hurricane Irene.

Donations Made in 2010

$1019.00 – Boys Baseball scholarship was awarded to Dan Adler, a Suffern HS class of 2010 graduating senior. 

$1,022.00 – Boys Basketball scholarship was awarded to Marley Anthony, a Suffern HS class of 2010 graduating senior.

$1,250.00 – To assist a local family with expenses after the death of a family member. 

$10,000 – To Olivia Bender, a Suffern HS student who was stricken with a rare disease that left her paralyzed from the waist down. The money was used to buy a therapeutic specialized exercise bike to aid in her recovery.

$7,000 – To Aidan Sullivan – a Brewster, NY 5 yr.old child who was born with a facial deformity and needs reconstructive surgery. The Foundation replaced funds that were stolen from Aidan the night of his fundraiser. This story was widely covered in the media and on AOL.

$2,500 – To the family of a 17 yr. old Clarkstown North HS student who was killed in an auto accident in December 2010. This helped defray additional costs that the family incurred.
